The Enthusiast's ChoiceAs a self-proclaimed car enthusiast, I often find myself drawn into conversations about cars when at social events. What do I think about the BMW 3-series? If I had £40,000 to spend on a car what would I get? What Porsche 911 is best? Though I can’t claim to be able to answer every car-related question I do enjoy trying to help and am flattered that my friends and family consider me some kind of expert... (more)

Driving the BMW M3 CSLThe BMW M3 CSL. Nothing more than a tarted-up, out of date 3-series to some; a supercar in a practical body for others. There are few modern performance cars more divisive, particularly because the standard E46 M3 on which this car is based is so widely adored... (more)

Emerging from the car parks and gridlocked roads that come to an end behind the beach, you are greeted by a bay filled with luxury yachts..." (more)

Roy Ayers live at Ronnie Scott'sThe term "legend" seems to be thrown around pretty freely these days but sometimes it is perfectly fitting. Composer, singer and musician Roy Ayers is certainly a legend. The influence of his music has been far-reaching... (more)

Experience the legend: Ferrari F40There are few road cars more revered than the Ferrari F40. Even many veteran motoring journalists rate it as one of the most exciting cars ever created and it is not difficult to understand why. The F40 was launched in 1987 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the marque and it would be the last car... (more)

Watch The Throne: Live at the O2 LondonTuesday night saw the last of five sold out concerts at London's O2 arena for Jay-Z and Kanye West, part of their Watch The Throne tour that will be making its way to Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield over the coming weeks. Restaurant Review - Opera TavernTapas restaurants, in my experience, are terribly hit or miss. Perhaps that is what makes it so satisfying when you find a good one. One of my best tapas experiences in London must have been two or more years ago when I went to Salt Yard, the Fitzrovia-based “charcuterie bar and restaurant”. Myself and a group of friends enjoyed a boozy evening of good wine and plentiful tapas... (more)

90s supercars: running costs
It's been ten months since I bought my dream car - a 1996 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta. If you have been following me on Twitter or visiting my website you will know that I bought this car to enjoy it. It was never meant to be a museum piece or an investment. That's not to say I am uninterested in the value of my car. One of the reasons that I went for an F355 is because depreciation should be minimal. I never expected my car to be cheap to run, even though I had read that Ferrari had upped their game with the F355 and made it more reliable... (more)
Tesla: the unexpectedOver the past couple of years electric and hybrid cars seem to have moved further into the mainstream but it doesn’t seem as though many of us are actually buying them. In 2011, almost two million new cars were registered in the UK but only 1,082 of these were electric. Part of the problem is that people are put off by the limited range of electric vehicles, even if many of us only occasionally take journeys of a hundred miles or more... (more)
